The third edition of the International Meeting on New Strategies in Bioremediation/Restoration Processes (BioRemid2023) will take place at Muttenz (Switzerland) on the 29th and 30th of June, 2023. BioRemid2023 will be hosted by the School of Life Sciences - University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). The objective of this meeting is to bring together scientists and industry professionals in a friendly environment, to share the latest developments and innovations to face environmental problems. Topics such as identification and monitoring of biohazards, strategies to remediate sites polluted with emerging (plastic-based materials, pharmaceutical active compounds) and priority pollutants (heavy metals and organic micropollutants), as well as new strategies in the integral cycle water management and biowastes management, will be discussed.
Deadline for Registration, including Abstract Submission:to be included in the Book of Abstracts 28th February 2023 (*After this deadline, only submissions for poster communications will be accepted, and those abstracts will not be included in the Book of Abstracts)
Decision of Acceptance: 15th March 2023
Registration is free, but the limited number of spots available (250) will be filled in the following order (to be confirmed by email after 31st March 2023): participants with 2 submitted abstracts; participants with 1 submitted abstract; and finally, participants who do not submit any abstract. The later will be selected on first come-first served basis, in the case registrations exceed the spots available.
Deadline for Registration: without Abstract or including *Abstract Submission for poster communications (that will be not included in the Book of Abstracts, if submitted after 28th February 2023): 30th March 2023.
Please be aware that by registering, you are committing to attend to the conference. In the case of either cancellation after 31st May 2023 or no show at the conference, an invoice of 50 € will be issued for catering compensation.

The BioRemid 2023 participants are invited to prepare and submit a document (e.g., video, poster, picture, drawing, flyer, comics, etc.) on the importance of bioremediation/restoration processes towards sustainability. The documents will be made available on the website of the Conference. A jury composed by the organizers and chaired by Professor Kenneth Timmis, chair of the International Microbiology Literacy Initiative South Asian Centre (IMiLI-SAC), will select the best document, that will be awarded in the Closing Session of the Conference.
